French cinema's November season reaches Dublin and Edinburgh
Two published festival programmes pair new releases with film heritage. Here is how their dates and formats differ.

French cinema audiences in Ireland and Scotland can now plan around two published November programmes. Dublin's Peugeot IFI French Film Festival runs from 18 to 29 November. The Institut français d'Écosse presents its selection for the separate French Film Festival UK from 10 to 18 November in Edinburgh. Neither event has yet taken place.
The Irish Film Institute announced its programme on 12 October: 34 features, including 25 Irish premieres, alongside classics and a nine-film streaming collection. The distinction between cinema screenings and online viewing matters. A festival headline does not mean that every title will be available in both formats.
Dublin's twelve-day programme
Dublin opens with Words of Love and closes with a new adaptation of Les Misérables. Its programme also includes restored silent cinema, contemporary animation and social dramas. These are organiser descriptions of the selection, not WHIF reviews or claims based on having watched the films.
The IFI lists ordinary festival tickets at €15 and the opening event at €18, with membership requirements and member bundles detailed on its site. Readers should use the live booking page for individual screenings. A programme announcement establishes the intended schedule, not continuing ticket availability.
A separate Scottish selection
In Edinburgh, the Institut's programme spans new films, classics, documentaries and family animation. The published schedule includes a cycling documentary with a filmmaker discussion, a film about waste and reuse with a discussion, and Construction Site, centred on cinema itself. These give the Scottish selection its own shape rather than duplicating Dublin's timetable.
The two programmes offer a useful way to follow French-language cinema beyond a single commercial release calendar. Archival work and contemporary production appear side by side. For viewers, choosing by format or subject may be more informative than treating the entire selection as one undifferentiated showcase.
This is a planning guide based on organiser material checked on 20 October. The IFI announcement and booking page belong to the same organisation and are not independent corroboration. The Edinburgh page documents a separate festival selection. Confirm dates, access arrangements and availability directly before booking travel or tickets.
